He grins, though, relaxing that the reaction wasn't as bad as he'd feared it might be.]
. . . It ain't like I wanted you to know. And I don't mean to make it sound like I've been pinin' after you for months or something. It's not really that kinda thing!
Heh . . . yeah, about that . . . things're a little complicated with my love life right now . . .
[He laughs too, and leans against William's side, companionable. It's not like this moment is making things less complicated. Kissing him wouldn't uncomplicate his life. But damn if it wouldn't be nice.]
[He leans back against Leon wondering exactly what had gone wrong. And if it was something he even wanted to know about? But well, he had asked the question.]
I guess a lot has been happening without my notice.
Heh, 's been a while since we caught up, huh? It ain't that serious . . . I just kinda ended up pulled in all these different directions. You know how that feels? It's nothin' like back home, though. I guess that's the problem?
[He gets comfortable there where he is. A little contact makes everything better.]
[He leans just a tiny bit harder in response to that. Months . . . even though it's not on his side of things, it still feels kind of lonely. He's just glad William hasn't forgotten him or moved on or whatever.]
I mean, I've liked girls enough to get with, and I've liked a few girls enough to really go after 'em, but I've never liked a girl so much I was like—okay, I'm ready to date her! It's like that.
Yeah, I guess that's it . . . like, they're both perfect! They're totally different kinds of girl, but they're both perfect! I'd date either one of 'em! How'm I supposed to choose just one? Besides—I'd do it if I had to, but . . . it's not exactly like I wanna stop screwing around with my friend, either . . .
[You know, his friend with benefits. He lowers his voice considerably, and once again he shoots a glance at Togami's closed door.]
[He says it with no venom as he reaches over and ruffles Leon's hair for a moment.]
Well I cannot exactly speak to how you should go about the situation. I am not the best at making choices. But even someone annoying once told me that even not choosing is a choice.
[He ducks away from the ruffling and reaches up to push his hair back into place—but it does make him smile, anyway, and once his hair is fixed, he's just leaning obnoxiously back in again.]
Yes. There's danger everywhere. As for what's going on and if I'm okay, that is a long story.
[He pauses and thinks about how to start.]
I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but when I first came here, some had died a little bit ago. He was an important friend and servant to Dantalion, the one I've mentioned to you a few times. And things started going badly because of that. Everyone back home had become distant from me, pulled in different directions by the events that set in motion.
On a positive note, my Uncle did come back alive. And he managed to get back a lot of money, by working with my former upper classman to open some factories. But even that is... complicated right now.
But in the midst of all that, Dantalion came back, with a new friend, Gilgamesh, who was another demon. And Dantalion was acting strangely...
It is alright to ask questions. But anyways, that guy, Gilgamesh, I think he's taking advantage of Dantalion pretty badly, but he also made a point to me that I hadn't considered. There are bad wars going on in Hell right now and Dantalion is in the middle of it. He's been forced to throw himself into the bloodshed head first. Because I wouldn't vote for him. Or any of them. And they have no choice but to go down the more dangerous path. And hah...
[It's all such a mess how to even explain.]
But Dantalion spoke with me on Christmas even and I thought we had come to an understand of sorts. We resolved a of things and I told him I wanted him to stay by my side. And he wished for that too, but then refused. He said that the end of the world was coming and he needed to protect me and then he just... left.
[He sounds a little pissed now.]
Who just does that, huh? You can't go on about how we both want the same things and then just leave like that. I am hardly anyone to be coddled!
[Yeah this is what is really annoying him right now.]
Dude, what the hell . . . this is the kinda stuff that happens to you when you go back home for a while?!
[WILLIAM, YOUR LIFE. How do you even comfort someone over all this? That's crazy! Leon leans into him, but he's not sure what to say; it's all too complicated. Political? Not to mention the crazy demon part? Not to mention—]
[He pulled on his shirt collar a moment trying to think of how to word it, because he didn't actually want to lie, even if the need to express denial was strong.]
I don't know! [He's now gone from his collar to his tie, fiddling with it.] I just know I want him around and maybe...
Well, one thing at a time.
[That was a complete non-answer okay? But he's trying.]
You just tell a man you want him to live with you and people take it the wrong way...
[But seriously he's going to make himself simmer down and for real, be truthful.]
But I don't know if it's that I want that or not. I find him attractive and all...
[That's something he can admit after having been forced to think about it in this place and things that have been silently clicking into place back home for a while.]
But I don't know if I want that sort of thing with him. But... I wouldn't mind it I think. Maybe.
[He smacks William on the shoulder, encouraging. Well, he's trying to be, anyway. Sometimes it just comes out like that.]
Then you better go for it when you run into him again! Long's he treats you good! I hope I get to meet him someday! I'll make sure he does, man, don't worry!
. . . I'd say it's pretty gay to tell a dude you want him to live with you, but I've got a roommate too, and I totally just told you earlier I'd have moved in with you too, sooooo . . .
[On the other hand, he's fucking his roommate, and also told William earlier he'd fuck him too, soooooo.]
Oh no please don't do anything or say anything to him if he does come here. Please don't.
[For a million reasons. Chief among them is Dantalion really doesn't need encouragement. Second being that William's not entirely sure if Dantalion actually wants that. Sure, a lot of his behavior is flirtatious, but that might not mean anything. And while he's not one to fret over such a thing much, just because Dantalion wanted Solomon that way doesn't mean those feelings extend to the person he currently is. And it would be unfair to expect as much.]
It could totally be neutral though... I guess yes that is not normal. Most people back home would just call me a confirmed bachelor and be done with it.
[He blinks though and laughs.]
That is a bad example yes. Or at least, not the best example.

[This fact is highly debatable.

I would hope not! Not after the girls you mentioned. I would be a bit worried otherwise.

[Arguably with less romance involved.]
Really though? You never felt that way about anyone before?

A 'friend' of Dantalion's. If you can call it that. Needless to say, things are... rather touchy back home right now.

[Wait oh god what? How did Leon even get to that? And leave it to Leon to go that route]
No! We're not! We're just...
[But really there's no good, honest way he can answer this. Except to be, well honest.]
I... it's complex, okay. But no, we are not a couple or anything like that.
[Yes. Well no, probably not. Maybe. Sort of. He doesn't know. That's the problem honestly.]

Look, I know you won't tell anyone this, buuuut my roommate and my sexfriend are actually the same person . . . got it?

A-anyway, that ain't fair! I wanna meet this guy!
