[ If I had a Persona... it would be so useful... I could do everything on my own because my soul's hidden power is limitless............ wait, we're having a conversation. ]
I will! I don't think she'd turn us down. Her whole group is like . . . I dunno how much you know about all that, if she showed you her Persona, but they're pretty into the whole investigation thing. I don't think she can fight, though. Eh, I'll take good care of her!
[ Well, I suppose you did subdue and defeat a notable enemy in Maizono... he doesn't say out loud. But internally, it's good enough for him, at least for a claim of relative superiority. ]
I don't personally see a problem in inviting her. Even if you don't protect her, someone else will. [ Togami's more concerned with practicality than the romantic heroic gesture that Leon is probably imagining. ]
I was gonna do it anyway! You're such a buzzkill. Not that I actually wanna have to save her or anyone else, though. It'd be nice if this went off easy . . .
...It's hard to say. I don't know how hostile they will be, or the environment. [ CERES has apparently been very harsh in the past. But do they still have enough power and resources to be quite so violent? ]
. . . Thanks. Heh, is that weird to say thanks for that? But . . . I mean it.
[He lets his hand linger on Togami's back, smiling over at him, just a tinge awkward in its doofiness. He does feel kind of weird about it, and he's not sure he could explain the feeling it gives him if he tried. But—he's trusted. Not a thing that's ever felt very important to him in his life before, but this is his life now, and it makes his chest feel warm to hear it.]
[ He vaguely leans towards him—he's not trying that hard to resist—but otherwise stays put, his voice deliberately flat. ] If it's only sometimes, I haven't been as diligent as I should.
What the hell, I can't believe what an asshole you are!
[But in the way that's making him crack up right now. He yanks harder on Togami as he laughs, groping over to muss him up a little. As if Togami Byakuya knows how to roughhouse.]
I dunno, you're the one who's all the way over there!
[He lets him go, though, still laughing.]
You've got the worst friggin' sense of humor, man. I can't even tell when you're joking, and it probably ain't as often as it should be when you're sayin' stuff like that.
[Heeeyyy. Heeeeyyyy Togami. Leon scoots closer on the couch, less obnoxiously this time, though nothing can ever truly suppress his obnoxious core.]
Shut down, huh . . . here I was just thinkin', we live in the same place now and all and we haven't taken advantage of it yet . . . ! Buuuut I guess if you don't support it!
[ He glances over at Leon without moving his head, somewhat wary. ] Stop being coy for a moment and answer me honestly. Was "taking advantage" your ulterior motive in asking me to live with you? Because I'm not here for free and accessible consumption.
[Togami gets his wish: Leon's face falls immediately, into something confused and wounded, and he leans away again. Just hearing that put that way makes his stomach feel unpleasantly tight and twisted right where it was starting to feel warm a few moments before.]
—What the hell . . . no. C'mon, man, 'course not . . . it ain't like that. I just—I wasn't tryin' to force on you, I thought you might like it too. We don't gotta ever . . .
Yeah. Don't worry about that . . . that ain't what I meant by it, okay? I was just playin' around. It's not like it'd be any fun if you didn't want it too. That's like the whole point of messing around!
[Are they okay? He's still a little stung and uncertain, but tentatively hopeful, looking back at him without moving closer again yet.]
[ He considers his options here. He ruined the more playful mood they had going, but mostly because his mind is still on more serious things, and he wasn't too deep into that mood in the first place. But he said himself that the serious things will need to be delayed for a while... So is there any problem with letting himself be redirected? His gaze travels from Leon's face to the space between their bodies.
—After a moment, he just leans back against the back of the couch, sighing and crossing his arms. If he's going to relax, that's a good start. ]

—Yes. Then feel free to contact her.

[He even reaches over to smack Togami on the back, demonstratively. He's got this.]

...I would not extend the invitation if I thought otherwise.

[His hand curls in Togami's jacket, and he starts to tug at it, as if to drag him closer on the touch. Tug tug.]

Why does anyone sit next to you?

What "should be" is relative.

[He still isn't used to saying that kind of thing to Togami enough to not blush as he does, though he at least manages to sound mostly cool.]

...I see. Well, it's not entirely off the table either. I simply wanted to make sure we were clear on that point.
