[She hasn't even told him yet about the cooking, the self-defense classes, the soap-making, knitting and the time she went through every single experiment in a book titled The Practical Pyromaniac. Her interests are many and varied.
She can also fold dinosaurs out of cloth napkins.]
I did go and while I thought it was loud, it was also very vibrant and everyone seemed very happy. It is different from what I am used to and I do not think I will go all the time but I liked it.
And I did. Although I confess that I did find myself a little confused as to how that constituted as dancing. I had always thought dances were more structured. Or perhaps that is because I only know the waltz. Do you go to clubs, Leon? Do you dance too?
Yeah I think this is probably a cultural thing lol
I definitely dont waltz!
of course I can dance. Like the club kinda dancing though. it totally counts as dancing, its to the music and everything! I mean its mostly just an excuse to get your hands on each other yknow??
But what do you mean? How do our cultures differ? Going to a club is something new for me.
And that is too bad. I find waltzing to be quite fun.
I am glad to hear that you can dance though. Perhaps we could dance together sometime. And no, I was not aware that dancing was an excuse to touch each other. I always thought it was to share in the enjoyment of the music and the movements of the dance.
[She doesn't reply, but that's because she calls him instead.
Please pick up or else she's going to inundate his phone with messages, anything in order to explain and make sure he understood that she would never, ever make fun of him.]
[He can do that. He's surprised, but not unpleasantly—he just didn't expect that as a reaction. When his CereVice goes off, he stares at it for like two rings and then picks up.]
[Now he feels kind of bad, but he also feels weird about feeling bad. This is an emotional rollercoaster. But, like, a very shallow one, because he wasn't that upset and doesn't feel that bad or that weird. Maybe it's more like an emotional . . . teacup ride.
He sighs.]
Look, it's fine . . . I didn't expect you to call me. It was just the way you said that, I couldn't tell if you were like, jabbing at me some! Just a little!
And that is why I called. Like this, it is easier to tell what I am thinking, is it not? With the sound of my voice.
[She sounds pleased that she thought of it.]
I am sorry that I worried you, however little it was. If you are ever in doubt, you may ask, I will always assure you. I like you and I would like to know more about you.
Y, yeah . . . ah, now I feel kinda guilty . . . but you ain't doing that on purpose either, right?
[He wouldn't put it past some people. But from her . . . no, she's not like that. She's so much not like that that sometimes he's not sure how to cope with her, he's finding.]
[Heh. He relaxes further; she's so earnest that it's hard not to.
Not to mention weird.]
That's such a broad question! D'you always just ask people stuff like that? But . . . lots of stuff, I guess. Having fun? That's a pretty broad answer to go with it.
[Fair was fair, that's true. And yes, that hint goes right over her head but she is aware that she's a girl and maybe he'd like to go out with her??]
I also like being outdoors. And I like sweets, the way rain feels on my face, wandering wherever I wish to go, sunsets, sunrises, snow...there really are very many things. [Also spiders, cats, dogs, looking out windows, summer, spring, fall, winter, etc. She smiles easily and often so her list is long.] Knowing that you are happier is also one of those.
'Cuz you kinda come off like some sort of . . . how do I put it? Like an angelic being? That whole thing you just laid on me, that was like something out of an angel route in a dating sim! Uh, not that I play those, but you hear stuff, y'know?
I see. I have never played a dating sim with an angel route before so I was not aware it would sound like that. [She's only played that incredibly terrifying "dating sim" on ViViD.]
But I assure you that I am human as far as I am aware and I do truly like those things and wish for your happiness.
. . . Guess you're just kinda weird. Uh, no offense. You're totally sweet! You're, like, a good person! Maybe better than I'm used to? That could be it . . .

Wait you went clubbing?
and liked it??

Why? Should I not have liked it?

so did you dance with guys??

And I did. Although I confess that I did find myself a little confused as to how that constituted as dancing. I had always thought dances were more structured. Or perhaps that is because I only know the waltz. Do you go to clubs, Leon? Do you dance too?

Youre not making fun of me are you??

Veronica?

[She clutches her own CereVice a little tighter.]
I would never, never make fun of you. I promise. Never.
If it is something that I said, please let me know what it is. It was never my intention to make you unhappy.

I would rather that you would be happy, actually. Tell me, what makes you happy, Leon?

[So yes, she asks people questions like this all the time. But she can't help but to smile upon hearing his answer. Is he teasing her?]
What do you do to have fun then? What is it that makes you smile when you are worried or unhappy?
no subject
I'm an outdoors kinda guy mostly, but I play games and watch TV and stuff too. Go out with girls?
[HINT HINT—wait, she's already proven she doesn't get hints. Right. Maybe he'll actually ask, in a bit. She did offer first . . . ]
What about you? I mean, what makes you smile? Fair's fair!

He shakes his head a little, then laughs. Lower this time. Quiet and warm—but disbelieving.]
Uh, look, you're human, right? For real? No offense, just askin'!

Why do you ask?

You are very welcome. And I should thank you, as well.
...Thank you, Leon.
