Ddhhh?

[Oh shit. He knows that voice! Leon whirls around to face her, and it's a good thing red is a good color on him, because his cheeks almost match the shade of his . . . "bathing suit" right now.

(The cheeks on his face.)

He stammers for couple of seconds that feel endless as his mind tries to work out what exactly to shut down and die over first. First of all, she'd seen him pitching; that's kind of a mixed bag of emotion there. One part knowing his skills are impressive (enough to have gotten him laid plenty back home) and one part being embarrassed to show off that side of himself. He's supposed to be totally over this whole baseball thing! It's in the past! He's cooler than this now!

That's part one. But she's not talking about his pitching; she's looking at his, everything. Leon's not easily ashamed of his body, but having it pointed out straight up like that is both embarrassing and exciting, except exciting is the same thing as embarrassing when you're practically naked. There's no problem yet or anything, but it's always in the back of his mind.

Aaaaaand she's.

Yeah.

When he turns around, he gets a good look at her, and then claps one hand up over his eyes . . . and then spreads his fingers so he can peek out between them at her. Not even subtly. Ohhh my god! No, don't think about it now! Save it for later! Way later. Tonight-later!

All of that nonsense does not actually take that long at all from the outside, but for Leon it feels like forever, or at least long enough that he should have come up with something to say better than]

H, ha ha, thhhhanks! You mean it? Oh my god! Sorry! I'm totally not looking! I'm looking a little?! Sorry, Kujikawa! But not that sorry!

[But that's what she gets.]
