Sometimes you end up thinking rejection's the worst though, especially if the person who rejects you is still someone you care about a lot. Those feelings don't go away overnight just because they said no to you. [And like that she perks up again almost immediately.] But it always gets better doesn't it? And there's always someone else out there, I think. It's pretty hard to imagine people saying no to you though.
